Description A sterling silver table bell of circular form with concentric ring pattern on the shoulder, chased Rococo revival decoration (floral, foliate and shell) with a blank central cartouche, flaring to a reeded rim.  The waisted and faceted handle with finial is integral to the bell. The internal clapper is of conical form with a crozier-shaped shaft and is attached by a small hook soldered to the interior of the bell. Dimensions & Weight: Diameter (at bell rim): 8.0 cm / 3 1/8 in.;          Height (including handle):  13.5 cm / 5 3/8 in.;          Weight: 157 gm / 5.0 ozT. Hallmarks: Bell: Lion Passant (Sterling); Leopard’s Head (London); lower case Gothic ‘f’ (1841-2); Queen Victoria sovereign’s head duty mark. The sponsor’s mark of Roman capitals ‘ I·L’ over ‘H·L’ in a square punch is for John & Henry Lias of London.  A Sterling mark also appears on the clapper.
